Heerlijke verjaardag!

Ja, zo kun je het wel noemen! En bij verjaardagen horen toch kaartjes? Dus die kreeg ze van de fokster! We zijn vandaag lekker naar het park geweest, twee uur lang en hebben heerlijk gespeeld! Super vond ze het en is zelfs nog gaan pootje baden….brrr! Thuis gekomen was baasje er al, dus dat was een leuke verrassing. Ze ging dan ook lekker bij hem liggen uitrusten! En ja, dat was het goede moment voor een lekker botje! Daarna gingen we even samen een uurtje een tukje doen! En toen was het al tijd voor het eten…voor haar speciaal rauw vlees van de slager. Normaal staat ze ook op vers vlees, maar dat is voorgemalen. Nou, deze stukjes spiervlees gingen er goed in! Jammie! En als toetje een beetje doperwten en appelmoes! Tja, ons kleine monster is nergens zo gek op, als op alles met appels! En daarna was ze toch wel uitgeteld van deze bijzondere dag en wilde al vroeg naar buiten, zodat ze daarna lekker op de bank bij kon komen en vast wat voor kon gaan slapen! Een impressie van deze leuke dag:

Yes, you call it a wonderful birthday! We went to the parc for 2 hours and played….She loved it and even went for a swim, brr… Back home the boss was already there, taking half the day off from work to be with his little girl,  and that was a big suprise and she was all joy! So she only wanted to be with him then and that was the right time for a new chewing bone, her favorite! And then we both went to bed for a small nap. After that hour it was already time for dinner and hers was extra special, raw meat from the butcher! The tiny pieces of muscle meat went straite inside without chewing even! But she did taste it…and for desert we had applesauce. She just loves everything with apple! That made her reach her end of the day as she really was tired! She wanted to go out early and layed down on the couch for a short sleeptime! The pics are an impression of this day!

Flopke is 2 Jaar vandaag!

 

Ok, het is alweer zo ver! Het is  1 MAART! Dus ga ik lekker met Flopke in het park spelen, die vandaag al weer 2 jaar wordt! En natuurlijk haar 5 broertjes en 2 zusjes (de onderste foto’s zijn de meisjes):

Een sfeer impressie van de eerste uurtjes van pupje oranje, onze Flopke (ja, ze paste toen nog helemaal op één hand!)…..Eén week later heb ik haar voor het eerst vast gehouden! Toen paste ze nog..       Ok, it is time again! It is March already! So I am off to play with my sweet Lab Flopke, who is 2 years young today! Above a small impression of the first few hours of puppy orange, our Flopke (ye, she fitted just on one hand!). One week later I held her for the first time! She still fitted in my hand that day!

Een dagje in de sneeuw! Zalig rolle bollen en ravotten met een golden pup, genaamd Clouseau! Hij wordt opgeleid tot blindegeleidehond en mocht even lekker hond zijn en zo de spelregels tussen honden leren.

Ja meisje, ik ben klaar met dat toestel…..

A day in the snow at the age of 1 year and 9 months now (ye, time flies). Great rolling around and playing with a golden pup, named Clouseau! He is trained to become a blind guide dog and was able to be a normal dog for a while and learn the rules between dogs this way.

November plaatjes/November pics

Wij vonden het heerlijk om naar haar te kijken toen ze afgelopen zondag zo lekker lag te chillen! Ok, gewoon relaxen mag ook! Is ze niet gewoon om op te eten? Eindelijk kreeg ik het voor elkaar om een foto van haar te maken, terwijl ze als een kikker met haar achterpootjes gespreid ligt. Normaal springt ze gelijk op als ik de kamer binnen kom met mijn fototoestel, maar dit keer bleef ze rustig liggen, alsof ze zeggen wilde: ga je gang maar! Dit is echt haar favoriete manier van slapen buiten de bench! Vooral die knuffel doet het dan he!  Ze sleept hem overal mee naartoe!

We just loved watching this last sunday…ain’t she just adorable? It is so cute so see and this time she didn’t jump up when I entered the room for a picture with the camera in my hands!  She just stayed calm as if she wanted to say: ok, go ahead and do it, if you have to! So finally we caught her in the froggy way of laying down with her last legs spread out flat! It is her favorite way of sleeping outside the bench. Especially the stuffed toy (a lab) she loves and drags it all around the house with her!

Stuiterballetje/ Jumping Ball

Yes, that is the nickname for our Flopke! Since autumn arrived she is really jumping up and down like a bowling ball! And I heard from her breeder she takes after her mom for that part! She loves to run after a swirling leave, and there are many in these days! She drags me through the street from time to time! Somehow she can’t calm down outside. Inside she is a sweet little puppy. Ok, she is a grown big lady, but sweet as a puppy!

During our training sessions at her school on saturday mornings it is sometimes not funny anymore. It is a parc/forest, so many leaves swirling around while I try to learn her something and somehow I can’t get her attention during that one hour a week! That means too we can’t go through with passing her second exam this december as she is just to playful. Not that I mind so much! We love training with her and she loves going to school, so when it takes longer to get her attention enough, so be it! I do love the fact that she is still so playfull and not a dull dog and does everything blindless on command. Yes, it is easier to learn such a dog a trick, but it is more fun with Flopke! You never know what is in her mind that day and what she likes to do for you! Somedays she can be amazing and walks calmly besides me, like she never does anything else than obey! But especially the part of walking with attention is her worst trick. She can leave food unattended on my hand and eat it only when I say she can, even if she has to wait for my approval a full minute! Which is very long for a dog, especially a Labrador! She passed all the rules for the exam (we were tested last saturday), but failed the part of walking with attention, aswell in the field as in a slalom, crossing other dogs. She doesn’t pay attention to the other dogs, not even when they bark at her, but she pays lots of attention to her trainer and leaves or the smells on the field! Like she needs to go hunting! O well, we will just continue our school and see if she can pass her exam by June as I will miss some training sessions due to my upcoming surgery. I can’t do heavy work for 6 weeks after that, so not training Flopke while she is pulling me around!

Back to School!

Tja, dat terug naar school zit er hier in huis ook echt wel in hoor, ook zonder kinderen! Tja, die (kleine) hondjes moeten toch ook weer naar school? Dus afgelopen weekend (ja, het is al bijna weer weekend) zijn we naar de tweede les geweest. De eerste les, de week ervoor, was letterlijk in het water gevallen en werden we van het veld gehaald, omdat het bliksemde en regende. Vooral de bliksem is gevaarlijk en de honden worden daar ook erg onrustig van. Flopke verschool zich achter me en begon weer haar trucje uit de kast te halen om mij te laten weten dat ze echt bang was…..ze springt dan op mijn rug, alsof ze werkelijk in me wilt kruipen. We hebben zelfs terug-naar-school-kleding aan geschaft! Deze trui zit zo lekker WARM! Dus ja, die gaat nu naar school aan he. Alleen een regenjack erover en we zijn beschermd tegen de elementen! Ik ben nu al GEK op die trui! Rara hoe kan DAT nou!

Well, even without kids, we are in the mood of getting back to school in this house! Ye, the (little) dogs have to go to school too, isn’t it? So last weekend (ye I know it is almost again weekend) we went to our second class. The first class, the week before, was really washed away by the rain. We were taken off the field as there was lightning and thunder and lots of rain in the end and to not scare the dogs to much we left. Flopke showed me her trics again in the end to tell me she was really scared….she climbs/jumps on my back! It feels likes she really wants to curl up in my arms if she does that! But we did buy some going-back-to-school- clothes! This sweater is so warm! So yes, I wear it to school and all I need is a raincoat to protect me for the elements of nature! I just LOVE that sweater already! How can THAT be?
