Breiten foto’s eind december

 

Is het geen knapperd? Zelf vinden we deze kopfoto’s heel mooi en ik denk zo dat ze wel uitvergroot gaan worden! Volgende week krijgen we nog een paar anderen erbij, dus wie weet wat voor moois daar nog tussen zit!

Vandaag zijn we weer begonnen met de gevorderden Breitensport en Flopke was helemaal in haar sas! Je kon haar echt zien genieten! Zo leuk, dus ja, daar doe je het voor, ook al snotter je zelf de hele ochtend dat het een lieve lust is! Tja, griep en hondensport laat zich eigenlijk moeilijk combineren, maar dan kies ik toch altijd voor het hondje hoor! Zo lang de koorts het nog even toe laat!

Gefeliciteerd Flopke, al 3 jaar!

Ja, het al drie jaar geleden dat in de vroege zondagmorgen het Glamour nest werd geboren bij Sparkling Hope Labradors. O wat waren ze klein op die eerste foto’s, maar alle 8 zijn nu grote gezonde stevige hondjes geworden, die veel op elkaar lijken, ook in karakter als ik de andere verhaaltjes lees! Kijk maar eens op het SH blog voor foto’s van Flopke’s broertjes en zusje! Echt soms weet ik niet wie wie is!Ook baasje had aan zijn meisje gedacht hoor, mooie vlag he! Vanochtend al lekker een bakje vlees verorberd en er ligt al een lekker runder oortje klaar voor direct bij de koffie (zij het oortje en ik de koffie). Vanmiddag hopen we op wat zon zodat we nog even lekker kunnen spelen in het park! Van de week ging die kleine gek het water al in! Brrr……

Nu eerst het oortje en koffie! Fijne dag verder…..                Het was heerlijk! It was delicious! Yes, it is already three years ago that on an early sunday morning the Glamour nest was born at our breeder. Oh, how small they were in the first pictures, but they have all grown up to 8 strong and lovely brown labs, who have great resemblance among each other! Also in caracter if I read the other stories on the blog! Check it out to see Floppy’s other brothers and sister!

Also the big boss has thought about his little girl turning 3! See pic above. And there is already a snack ready for her to eat while I have my coffee break! I hope the sun will shine this afternoon so we can go out to the parc and play! Last week she already jumped into the water…….brrrr…to cold for me!

Laatste sneeuw pret/Last snow joy

Zalig weer, ook al werden we halverwege overvallen door een ware sneeuwbui! Maar we begonnen al met iets leuks, nl. spelen met een bruin pupje van 14 weken! Dan doe je weer net zo gek als toen je zelf 14 weken was! En een spontane nette sta-foto! En de eerste stapjes op veilig ijs! Oef wel ENG hoor na mijn avontuur begin februari! Tot slot lekker op een botje, eh stok bijten, voluit in de sneeuw! Zal maar niet vertellen wat ze daarna thuis deed…niet erg smakelijk!

Wonderful weather, although we were halfway catched up by some heavy snowfall. But it began with meeting a little brown labrador puppy and we played wonderfully well in the parc for a while. Floppy was so gentle with him, even when he bit her! She was acting as if she was 14 weeks herself again later on when she challenged him to run! And a proper sponatnious stand picture! And the first little steps on safe ice! Wow, that was quite scary after my adventure earlier this month! In the end I could bit a bone, eh stick, down with my belly in the snow! I won’t tell what I did later on at home….not very tasteful

Winterfun/Winterpret

Ondanks dat de sneeuw in het verkeer veel chaos veroorzaakte en ongelukken, was het ook super leuk om doorheen te baggeren voor je plezier! Dus vanmiddag met die “kleine” (van bijna 3) lekker ons wezen uitleven in het park!

Despite the fact that the snow caused a lot of chaos in traffic and accidents it was super fun to go out and play in the snow! So this afternoon I went with our “little one” (almost three now) to the parc and had lots of fun together!

Ons park bij het meer/ Our Parc near the lake: De bosjes staan bijna aan de rand van het water, nu ijs bedekt met sneeuw. Flopke rende het ijs op en zakte er zelfs doorheen met een pootje of gleed weg, maar gelukkig schrok ze zelf behoorlijk ervan en kwam gelijk naar me terug toen ik haar riep!

The trees are near the edge of the lake, now ice covered with snow. Floppy ran on the ice (it is hard to see where land stops and ice begins), slipped on it and got scared, so when I called her she came immediately back to me!

Sinterklaas

 

Ja de goedheiligman is weer in het land en dat kun je zelfs aan de hondjes merken! Hoe dan? Nou zo:

En ik maar denken: die blijft overal af! Tja, dus niet van pepernoten! Als ze maar niet in de zak naar Spanje gaat!

The dutch Santa Claus is in the country and celebrates his birthday on december 5th. It is always an exciting period for children, as they get presents on the 5th of december. Before I thought it has no influence on doggies, but I think I might be mistaken! The special cookies for this event smelled so strong, Floppy couldn’t resist them anymore! Guess I have to put the bag a bit more up next time! This sidetable was really to low to prevent her from picking up a cookie!

ZOOO Koddig!

Vanochtend was ik bezig wat patchwork blokjes te maken, komt Flopke me ineens haar lapje (babydoekje) brengen, want er moest toch ff gespeeld worden! Ok, dus ik speel even ermee met haar, ze mag immers best wel wat aandacht hebben op een dag en ga weer terug naar mijn werkje. Maar volgens madammeke was het nog niet genoeg, dus kwam ze me haar slang brengen (een deurstopper als speelgoed). Nog ff gestoeid met die slang en weer terug aan het werk. Ineens ben ik haar kwijt en ga op zoek, je moet immers haar nog steeds goed in de gaten houden nietwaar?Weet je waar ik haar vind? In mijn werkkamer (ik was in de huiskamer) en de slang moest haar maar gezelschap houden….snurk snurk! Ik moest zóóó lachen! Allereerst al om het feit dat ze altijd met haar lapje komt aandragen als ik lapjes aan het naaien ben en daarna die verontwaardiging dat ze maar apart ging liggen met haar slang en hoe ze ging liggen! Zo koddig!

Ik hoop dat dit een lach op je gezicht kon brengen! Bij mij lukte het aardig, maar ja, ik heb het zien gebeuren en dat is soms toch anders als dat je het leest!

Dit was na afloop van haar slaapsessie::

This morning I was working on a lasy comfort block and suddenly Floppy is bringing me her cloth, a babytowel as it was time to play together! So I plyed a little while, as she needs her attention from time to time,  and went back to my stitching. But according to Floppy is wasn’t long enough so she dragged her toy around the room and brought it to me to play again. So we played….and I went back to stitching. Suddenly I noticed she wasn’t near meand I still need to watch her closely so she doesn’t rip out her stitches from surgery last week. So I took a tour around the house to see where she has gone to. I found her in my working area, laying on her pillow with her toy, deep asleep and making funny noises. I had to laugh out so loud! First by the fact that she alwasy comes to bring me her fabric baby towel when I start playing with my fabric and second as she was so upset that I didn’t want to play long time with her thjat she went to the other room to sleep there and only her toy could keep her compagny!

I hope it brought a smile on your face. For me that wasn’t a problem, but I have seen it happen and that is different from just reading it and seeing a picture!

Steriliseren-Spaying

Ja, na lange aarzeling hebben we nu toch besloten om Flopke te laten steriliseren. Normaal gesproken wilden we het niet doen, want waarom snijden in een gezonde hond? Maar Flopke kreeg steeds meer last van heftige ontstekingen aan haar bekkie en dat werden echt flinke abcessen, dus nu dus toch laten doen om medische redenen. Hopelijk zorgt nu het veranderen van de hormoonhuishouding ervoor dat deze flinke ontstekingen in de toekomst weg blijven. Het begon nl. altijd ongeveer een maand voor ze loops moest worden en ging pas over, na diverse heftige AB kuren, als ze eenmaal loops werd. Maar dat is nu verleden tijd!

Vanmorgen om 9 uur konden we haar brengen en we mochten erbij blijven tot ze in slaap was gebracht, wat altijd weer een moeilijk moment is om te zien, zeker nadat je al twee hondjes hebt weg gebracht! En om 12.00 uur mochten we bellen hoe de operatie was verlopen. Ze zouden nl. de baarmoeder tegelijkertijd ook controleren en eventueel bij misvormingen gelijk eruit halen. Maar het was helemaal glad weefsel, dus er was geen reden toe. Dus Flopke is alleen haar eierstokken kwijt en dat is nog wel een echte buikoperatie maar minder zwaar als dat de hele baarmoeder eruit gehaald was. We mochten haar om twee uur al halen, dus na de laatste boodschapjes haar opgepikt. En ze stond nog zo wiebelig op haar beentjes! Ze is ook erg onzeker en piept de hele tijd, maar dat komt door de morfine die ze bij de DA al gehad heeft. Dat is gelukkig een kwestie van een dag en dan zakt dat wel af!

Nu nog zien dat we haar 10 dagen rustig houden en niet teveel zien likken en knabbelen aan haar hechtingen, die ze hier mooi liet inspecteren! Ok, er moest daarna natuurlijk wel geknuffeld worden en vertroeteld! Ze is immers best wel zielig nu hoor! En dat wil ze weten ook!Yes, after a long time hesitating we have decided to have Floppy spayed. She was having severe infections , starting a month before her heat has to come and it only ended after a load of Anti/biotics, when her heat started. Normally we would see a reason why we would cut into a totally healthy dog, but this got worse and worse, so we had to do something.

This morning at 9.00 am we could bring her to the Vet and stay with her while they put her to sleep. Still difficult to watch after you have lost 2 dogs before! At 12.00 am we could call to ask how the surgery whas gone and it went perfect. They had a normally procedure and didn´t have to take out the whole womb, which would be the case if the womb wasn´t looking good after inspection. So that was good news as it ment too that the surgery wasn´t that heavy for Flopke as when the womb would have been taken out. SDtill a huge abdomen surgery, but nevertheless!

We could p+ick her up at 2 pm already, so after the last groceries we went to the Vet and were so glad to see her again unsteady on her feet! Yes, she has had extra morphine so she felt very insecure, but with a day or so that would go away. It was a reaction also to the anasthesia. Now all we have to do is keep her calm for 10 days till the stitches are removed as she is not allowed to play wild or run etc. That will be a bigger task! Now back to the patient, who let her abdomen be inspected really easy, when you cuddle with her afterwards and spoil her a bit too as she really feels a bit pitiful and she wants to know that too!
